Last weekend Linton had season endings and prize giving party. Oh my gosh we had so much fun and I'm officially not a rookie anymore! That's cool! Us rookies had to do this race where we had few drinks (like eggs and milk.. yak!) Then we had a court session. In that game everyone has their own turn to impress the judges or make an argument of something that has happened during the season. I entertained the judges by singing the Finnish National Anthem. There is of course lot's of rules what you can and can't do during the session or you get punished. Sooo much fun!! I don't know will I ever have a chance to play for Linton again, but they will defenetily have a place in my heart forever. Team gave me their number 12 Jersey and team picture. Very emotional moment for me. The hardest part of this hole 3 months will be leaving this place and these people, just heartbreaking!
Farah is Sports phD, and she teaches sports business in Massey University. Today I gave a presentation for Farah's class about Sports in Finland in sosial context. It was nice, I talked to the students about Finnish Sisu which is mental attitude that you never ever give up no matter what the circumstances are. It's courage and cold will. It's also been a key part of our national identity since the winter war. All of you who know me well also know that I'm Captains daughter and I'm very patriot, so talking about my beautiful country and my people fills my heart with proudness every single time.
I better go to sleep now, tomorrow morning starts at 6 a clock running stairs with Farah :) Talk to you soon!
